Welcome to our terrific traders!

The excitement and anticipation around Metropole Market and Street Fair is building nicely and we are delighted to announce the first list of traders. We’re proud to have a real focus on ‘local’, showcasing a collection of the best, most imaginative products our region has to offer.

Some of the traders confirmed so far include Dark Matters; totally vegan and totally delicious hand-made chocolate brownies; Ages Apparel – clothing and accessories inspired by Africa, run by Bournemouth-based brothers who have been featured in high-profile national magazines such as GQ; and Jackie Robinson’s Vintage Clothing.

Many of Lansdowne’s remarkable, independent retailers will also be partaking in the market, adding their own attractions for visitors. This includes Sharkey’s Sports Bar, which is getting in the Metropole spirit with a ping pong tournament. No less than three table tennis tables will be setup by Sharkey’s in the market which will be available to play for free! The longest rally of the day will win a 12-month pass to the Sports Bar for two, entitling them to free table tennis and pool for a year.

Rod Cake, Owner of Sharkey’s Sports Bar, has said: “There is a palpable buzz building about Metropole Market and we are thrilled to be a part of this new exciting attraction. We hope to see many people join us at the market for a round or two of ping pong!”

Other traders confirmed include: The House Grille – barbeque with a difference, served from a Vintage Citroen HY Van complete with wood-fired oven; Ma Bolton’s Home Made and Dairy Free Food such as her best selling Gluten Free Pastry Mix – Ma creates all her food from her home in Kinson;  Sweet’N Me Up – a vintage 1975 VW van serving chicken satay and mini Dutch pancakes; Bubble Trouble’s  beautiful and unique glass and stone sculptures by artist Deb Edlund; Angelic Jewellery with pieces from the delicate to the dramatic; and Auntie Aardvark – hand crafted knitted items from gossamer-light summer shawls to cute animal egg cosies.

This is just a small selection but gives a taste of the eclectic nature of The Metropole Market experience. For all confirmed Traders so far click here.
